How He Loves by John Mark McMillan

A Christian contemporary song by John Mark McMillan. It speaks about the love that that God has for us, which eclipses all the pain and affliction we will face in this life. More personally, it was written at a time when the composer's good friend had passed away in a tragic car accident, and he was grappling with his faith and God's plan in all this.

And Romans 5:8 gives us a glimpse of the love God has for us - that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. And it was a death once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous to bring us to God (1 Peter 3:18). The way that He loves takes the initiative because we can never save ourselves while dead in our sins. The way that He loves reaches out His hand of grace and mercy to redeem us even when we do not deserve it. The way that He loves put Jesus on the cross for our sins, that we might have a new relationship with God. Oh how He loves us all!
